We should closely relate aperture to our eyes because when the eye is exposed to dark and bright environments, the iris in the eye expands or shrinks, which controls the size of a pupil, a hole that allows light to pass further within the eye. Similarly the "pupil" in photography is called the aperture because you can shrink or large the size of the aperture to allow more light to pass through or to dim the light. 2.
