Abbie Brien from James Bowie High School has attained her goal of being the Student of the Month for the month of September. She has worked to be the Student of the Month because she wants to achieve goals that would make her proud and boost her self-confidence, she has done this by working hard for many hours.
Brien has maintained an amazing GPA of 4.98 and exceptional grades which has helped her succeed as the Student of the Month.
"This student in my class alone, has studied before and after school to maintain these goals," Brien's Pre-Calculus teacher Lilly Triha said. "Her pride to never give up and a goal of a GPA over 4.5 has boosted her confidence to become the student of the month."
Brien has spent 5-6 hours of work in all of her classes, her mindset was to reach her goals.
"Brien has assured to study for many hours more than other months to achieve this goal," Brien's mom Linda Brien said.
The journey Brien has partaken in this month has assured her to trust herself and broadened her knowledge on her capabilities that she has gained like time management and balancing other activities.
"She has told me countless times this experience has boosted her self confidence and pride to never give up and to always reach for the stars," Triha said.
Abbie has faced many challenges throughout her journey like hate from other students around her who don't want to see her succeed.
"Some challenges i'm sure my friend faced along the way was hate from other students and was to balance sports and school work at the same time, but her mindset allowed her to succeed," her best friend, Julia Micheals said
Abbie has maintained exceptional grades above 95.
"Abbie has assured to study for many hours which helped her become the student of the month," Linda said.
"My friend was definitely motivated to conquer this month and knew that going into this month that everything was going to happen for a reason," Micheals said.
