Front Pages of the World

  1. What is your favorite newspaper front page? Why? I liked the New York Times because of the layout and fonts, I also liked the information that was displayed on it. The design is what really drew my attention. 
  2. What is your favorite headline from that newspaper? Why are you interested in it?  My favorite headline from that newspaper was "Shots are fired, and bots swarm, to social divides" because its in all caps and pops because of the font choice. It also is interesting and appealing because it uses a quote to capture emotion. 
  3. How many stories are on the front page of your favorite?  There are 6 stories on my favorite newspaper.
  4. What do you notice that all newspaper front pages have in common? Look at design, size of photos, size of story text, etc.  They all have a large title, then theres usually 1-2 pictures on each front page. Theres about 3-6 stories on the front of each newspaper, theres usually a small barcode in the bottom right, and theres headlines that are pretty big in size. 
  5. What are things that vary (or are different) on the front pages of different newspapers? Look at design, size of photos, size of headlines, etc.   Sometimes the font of the title or headlines varies, also the font size for the title or the headlines varies as well. The stories that are displayed on the front page also vary overtime.

  Story of the Century The First jet aircraft takes flight, August 27, 1939 The first jet aircraft was flown by German test pilot Erich Warsitz on August 27, 1939. The design of the flight was based on the work of engineer Hans von Chain. The He 178 was a small, metal aircraft that ran on diesel fuel. The flight took place in Germany only days before World War II. After the day it first flew, the He 187 had been moved to an air museum but was destroyed in an air raid in 1943. Why this is interesting? I believe this event of having the first jet fly is one of the top three most interesting event from the 1900s because it initiated the history of flight.
