    Janice Jones of Barstow California was taken to the hospital when she was eating pork chops and her dog knocked over her handgun which discharge and shot her in the leg on Wednesday at 10 p.m.

    "Jones was eating pork chops in the back of her motor home," reported Rye said. " Her dog knocked her 9 mm handgun off a seat, the weapon discharged when it hit the floor, and the bullet passed through Jones leg.

    Jones was shot in the right leg and transported to the Irvine Medical Center.

"Jones was transported to Huntington Beach Hospital via ambulance and later was transported to Irvine Medical Center"Rye said. "Jones was treated at the hospital."

Jones dog was taken to a place called Huntington Beach Animal Control and was observed that abuse could've played a key role in this experiment.

"The dog seemed to be malnourished," animal control officer, Janet Ngo, said."Also the dog had fresh cigarette burns on its forehead."

Jones was cited with lack of said license plate and gun permit.

"Officers cited Jones for expired plates and the county’s district attorney’s office was considering whether to charge her in relation to the gun accident. Jones doesn’t have a permit for the gun," Rye said.
