1. Many people believe that television violence has a negative effect on society because it promotes violence. Do you agree or disagree? Use specific reasons and examples to support your response.



    Although many movies display violence, in no ways are the intentions of the movie makers  to promote violence. The theme behind a action movie is to provide entertainment. Time is put into movies to allow the viewers to be drawn into the movies, negative effect regarding violence isn't promoted by television, all violence shown on television is just to entertain and convey a message.

    In my opinion, television doesn't have a negative effect on society because it provides entertainment and by no means does it influence violence for viewers. Violence can't be influenced by a show or  movie that portrays action and entertainment for the viewers or can't be promoted by a fake, acted scene.

   Many directors, devote hours upon hours into the making of a entertaining movie. They hope to draw the readers attention and create tensity in the viewers, they want the viewers to be on their toes as to what will happen next . Violence in the movies is used to draw the attention of the readers not to influence or promote violence in society.

   Television violence doesn't promote violence, social media can prevent violence because it's reality, while television is entertainment and made up for one solemn purpose. Many people turn to television to have a less stressful day, week, or life, they watch television to catch up on the world around them, receive entertainment, and have fun. 

   Many people can oppose against my opinion because they feel that action movies and shows promote violence because the actors to actresses perform violence, but what they don't understand is that it the main purpose of the movie or show was to draw the viewers attention, not to influence viewers. I can see where people can see that it influences viewers to perform actions performed on the television, but the television was made a long time ago to perform actions like entertainment and news, not to influence violence around the world.

   The violence around the world is more influenced by the bullying and social media. The television has formed a community in society by allowing everyone to relate to the entertainment they see, the television has provided people with jobs. By no means is the televisions main purpose to  influence others to commit violence in society.

The television doesn't have a negative effect on society, it doesn't promote violence in society nor does it influence violence. The main purpose of the television is to provide entertainment and information about the world.
