Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. What are they?

APERTURE
f 2.8

f 16

1. What part of the body should we closely relate aperture?
We should closely relate aperture to our eyes because when the eye is exposed to dark and bright environments, the iris in the eye expands or shrinks, which controls the size of a pupil, a hole that allows light to pass further within the eye. Similarly the "pupil" in photography is called the aperture because you can shrink or large the size of the aperture to allow more light to pass through or to dim the light.

2. Finish this sentence - the smaller the Aperture, the less amount of light is passed through, the higher the Aperture the higher the amount of light is passed through.

3. In your own words tell me how aperture impacts Depth of Field?

Some images have a “thin” depth of field, where the background is completely out of focus. Other images have a “large” depth of field, where both the foreground and background are sharp. The smaller the aperture size the smaller the amount of blur in the background, which results in a "large" depth if field. The larger the aperture size the larger the blur in the background, this results in a "thin" depth of field.

SHUTTER SPEED
High Shutter Speed

Low Shutter Speed

1. If you were assigned to shoot at Bulldogs and Hotdogs night, which was a few months ago, what shutter speeds do you think you would have to shoot at the following events that night I would like you to answer the question for the following two situations:

a.) a booth in the middle of the yard near the Tree Long Shutter Speed
b.) a food booth outside under one of the big red awnings
 Long Shutter Speed
c.) the Stars performance inside the gym Long Shutter Speed
d.) students dancing near the center of the courtyard
Long Shutter Speed
e.) people streaming in from the front doors
Long Shutter Speed
f.) the basketball booth where students are shooting basketballs at a hoop
Long Shutter Speed

2. List the three settings your camera has regarding setting shutter speed (these are found at #5 on the Shutter Speed website. Explain how each works - DO NOT COPY AND PASTE, use your own words.
1. "Auto" mode: The camera will automatically detect the shutter speed without your input.
2. "Shutter Priority" the person shooting gets to pick the shutter speed and the camera will automatically choose the correct aperture for the situation regarding light.
3. "Manual" mode , the person shooting gets to choose both the shutter speed and the aperture speed.

ISO
Iso 200

Iso 6400

1. What are the advantages of shoot at a higher ISO at a sporting event like basketball or a night football game? The advantages of shooting at a sporting event like basketball at football with a high iso include the fact that the camera can capture the motion pictures faster
2. What suggestions did the author make about using a low ISO? When using a low ISO, the author recommended it be used in dark or dim environments, usually when the camera is  mounted on a tripod, and to use it when there is plenty of light.
3. What suggestions did the author make about using a high ISO? The author suggested that high ISO could be used when you are trying to shoot a object in motion, when theres not enough light for the camera, capture movement with introducing blur, and to capture objects in freeze motion.

List the aperture settings available on this camera.
The aperture settings available include:
- 2.8
-4
-5.6
-8
-11
-16
-22
Include high and low fp numbers to change the depth of field.

List the shutter speed settings available on this camera.
Shutter speed is available from 1 second to 1/4000 sec.
List the ISO settings available on this camera.
Iso is available from 100 to 25600, thus it includes very low iso and very high iso too.
